Areas of Learning

Preschoolers and Kindergarteners reading the Bible and growing their faith at Hand In Hand Christian Montessori

Jesus is the center of everything we do. Each Casa environment includes an Atrium — a prepared space housing an altar, sacred work, and biblical stories — where children come to know God and how He calls us to live.

Student learning Montessori Math with the Bead Chain

Mathematics

Hands-on, visual, and tactile Montessori math materials give children concrete experience with abstract concepts, building a deeper and lasting understanding of numbers.

Casa Preschool Student learning practical life skills grinding coffee beans

Practical Life

Purposeful activities like plant care, food preparation, and environmental care develop motor control, coordination, independence, concentration, and a sense of responsibility.

Language Arts

Montessori language materials help children explore written and spoken language, mastering letter sounds and handwriting on the way to reading, spelling, and writing.

Preschooler learning geography with the Montessori Puzzle Map

Cultural Studies

Geography, history, and science spark an early love of learning about the world — its natural wonders, people, history, culture, music, and art — letting children “travel” the globe from their own classroom.

Sensorial

Sensorial materials let children explore the world through sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch — discovering size, shape, color, and sound through hands-on experience.

What Makes Hand in Preschool and Kindergarten Unique?

The Atrium

A dedicated spiritual space where children encounter the person of Jesus and the truths of Scripture through hands-on, Montessori-inspired materials.

Multi-Age Learning Classrooms

Children ages 3 to 6 learn side by side in the same classroom, giving younger children mentors to look up to and older children real opportunities to lead, teach, and reinforce their own learning.

Uninterrupted Work Periods

Long blocks of uninterrupted work time each morning let children follow their curiosity and choose their own activities, building focus, independence, and a genuine love of learning from an early age.

Grace, Courtesy & Responsibility

From shared lunches to caring for their classroom environment, Casa and Kindergarten students practice everyday grace, courtesy, and responsibility — skills that carry into every area of life.
