Welcome to the '22-'23 School Year!

And welcome to Hand In Hand!  The back-to-school season is upon us. Now is the time when parents and teachers diligently prepare their houses and classrooms, their uniforms and wardrobes, filling backpacks and cubbies with school supplies.

"Seasons and Time" is our Hand In Hand theme this '22-'23 school year.  It seems appropriate that in our neck-breaking, fast-lane, microwave-ready world, we slow down and consider a different approach to time. We, as educators, as parents, as the keepers of sacred things, must slow down and find a rhythm of life that is...child-sized, slow, steady, and grace-paced

In the recent best-seller, An Unhurried Life, author Alan Fadling writes, "I am a recovering speed addict." After this confession, he goes on to explore the framework Jesus used for his earthly life, inviting his readers into how the work of "unhurrying" is central to our spiritual development.  Likewise, the wisdom writer of Ecclesiastes 3:1 states, "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." As we enter into another season of school, watching the clock tick and the leaves fall, let's slow down together, contemplate spiritual matters, and follow the pace of Jesus - who always had all the time He needed.  With grace-paced intentions,
